Highlights of Two Weeks Filled with Football Recruitment
After months of planning, the Keystone Sports College Soccer Showcase Tour 2024 was finally underway. Like last year, the showcases were held in various European cities as part of a tour. This event gave players a unique opportunity to display their skills in front of university coaches and improve their chances of earning a football scholarship in the USA.
The Keystone Sports College Soccer Showcase Tour 2024 brought together 500 talented male and female players from 10 nationalities and 108 US university coaches. With over 100 matches played and more than 200 goals scored, this year’s showcase tour stood out as one of Europe’s largest and most exciting US college soccer recruitment events!
Football Scholarship Offers at the Nordics Football Showcase
The showcase tour began with the Nordic players in Lillestrøm, Norway, between 6 and 8 December. Over three days, female and male players displayed their skills on the pitch in front of coaches representing top universities in the USA – with several scholarships offered to players on the spot!
Beyond the matches and face-to-face interactions with coaches, players attended presentations to learn more about studying in the USA and received valuable advice on boosting their recruitment prospects and securing football scholarships for university.

The players impressed with their skill and passion, which caught the interest of the American coaches and filled the parents with pride. The matches offered excitement and many good actions. Match Action and University Prep at the German Soccer Showcase
The second stop of the tour took place in Hamburg at the Stadion an der Dieselstraße, home to HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst. From 8–12 December, university coaches carefully observed the showcase matches, which featured exciting plays and promising male and female football talents in action.
But the road to being recruited to play football (soccer) in the USA on a scholarship is all about preparation. To support players’ preparation, the event kicked off with a University Prep Day. This day featured activities designed to provide valuable information and practical resources, such as creating a strong recruitment profile and understanding the requirements for playing university sports while studying in the USA.
Additionally, Dr Darren Treasure, one of the two renowned experts behind the Keystone Sports Performance Programme, led workshops and presentations to further guide the players.

Stefan Krämer, Head of Events at Keystone Sports, summarises:
“With 144 players participating from eight different countries, the 16th Keystone Sports Germany Soccer Showcase has been the biggest in our history. It’s been an amazing five days in Hamburg. In addition to the 25 coaches recruiting in person, more than 80 coaches joined our Virtual Showcase, providing a unique opportunity for all participants to demonstrate their skills to a very broad range of coaches across all divisions.”
Future University Football Talent Takes the Stage in Madrid and Oxford
At the same time as the Nordic Showcase took place, the 2024 Keystone Sports College Soccer Showcase was held in Madrid, Spain. On 6–7 December, Campo de Fútbol Carabanchel hosted players from across Spain, eager to demonstrate their abilities in front of US university coaches. The coaches, in turn, were excited to see Spanish talent on display as they searched for their next recruits to strengthen their university teams.
In addition to the showcase matches, the Madrid event also featured off-pitch activities designed to prepare players for college soccer and academics in the USA. On the first day, workshops and presentations offered valuable insights into life as a student-athlete and practical advice on securing a football scholarship.
The final stop of the Keystone Sports College Football Showcase Tour took place in Oxford, United Kingdom. This event brought together talented female and male players from across the UK, ready to display their skills in front of US university coaches looking to recruit standout British players for their teams.
“Both our female and male winter showcases this year were a huge success and something we’re all super proud of! The Keystone Sports College Football Showcase Tour 2024 brought together 500 talented players from across Europe, more than 100 experienced university coaches, and invaluable resources about stuyding and playing football at university level in the USA. The event not only highlighted the incredible talent of young football players but also provided a platform for them to take the next step in their football and academic careers in the USA.
